In some new vehicles of a well-known car manufacturer, a wrong choice of material led the mounts of the photo to early-aging. These plastic bases hold the tubes of cleaning solution to the windshield wipers, with the result that after the aging of the factory bases, they break and the water supply tubes on the wiper arms hang in the air, resulting in them not spraying properly on the vehicle's windshield.
Our company, using 3D digital tools (3D Scan and CAD), redesigned the base, improving the design in spots, but basically changing the manufacturing materials for enhanced durability.
With the help of 3D printing and specifically its new workhorse Formlabs, Fuse 1+ in less than a day more than 200 pieces were produced and delivered ready to use!
